Emergency Drug Administration

The administration of medication in an emergency is a life saving procedure and is governed under rules for prescription and administration of drugs in the UK. This course aims to provide the first aider with the knowledge, skills and confidence to administer medication in an emergency.

It is suitable for any person who, during the course of their duties may be required to administer medication in an emergency, principally;

n  Adrenaline Auto-injectors for Anaphylactic reactions

n  Emergency Inhalers for Asthma attacks

n  Midazolam for Epileptic seizures

n  Diazepam for Epileptic seizures

n  Aspirin for Heart Attacks

Delegates will learn how to plan for a medical crisis and store medication legally & correctly. A number of conditions requiring medication to be administered will be investigated and the correct and safe use of these drugs will be practiced.

Content: This course can consist of up to five modules and is delivered as a Core Module plus one or more of the additional modules.
